TOUR OF VIEUX-LYON 8/8
francaischinese

Palais de Justice47- Maison, 58 rue Saint-Jean

The façade, made again in 1832 during the widening of the street, does not offer much interest. However, the courtyard buildings are worth visiting. One is from 1406 and one was revised in 1528. Take the lane: the vaults of the galleries are supported by carved figurines to caps, different on each floor.

Note the presence in the courtyard of a spiral staircase with carved mullioned windows. The decor of frescoes in the galleries was found under the coating of a dwelling. The Renaissance well is one of the finest of Vieux-Lyon : you can access via three sides and its roof is decorated with three shells.

Primatiale Saint-Jean48- Rue de la Bombarde

Then turn right up the street Bombarde. This street links the dock of the Saone with the montee du Chemin Neuf, at the corner of rue du Boeuf., There is a nice view of the small garden and courtyard Basoche of the house called Maison des Avocats on the north side. The rue de la Bombarde was the ancient boundary of the cloister at Saint-Jean North. It has also been called in its southern part rue Porte-Froc.

Rue Saint-Jean
49- Maison des Avocats

You can find there another example of a very fine house in the neighborhood at the time of the Renaissance. In 1979, the Ordre des Avocats acquired it and began restoration. From the old inn of the fourteenth century, the only remains is a large gate that allowed horse-drawn carriages to enter the court.

You can admire the twelve arches resting on Tuscan columns with flat, three superimposed galleries, as well reattached. All this dates from 1516. Released in 2004 by the school for training young lawyers, house counsel now houses the International Museum of the Miniature.

Rue Sainte-Croix50- Rue des Antonins

This street connects the rue de la Bombarde and the place Saint-Jean, where it became very narrow. It has also been called rue de Talaru. This street was built in the cloister of Saint-Jean in the Middle Ages.

Rue Saint-Jean 51- Place Saint-Jean
